Fire Resistant

Because they are made from non-combustible plaster and glass fibres, Plasterdesigns products will not burn, spread flames or smoke. Their built-in fire resistance will restrict the spread of fire to other rooms. Here are the results of an "Early Fire Hazard Test" of this material conducted by the Commonwealth Experimental building station, Australia.

Clearly these figures show that the material used in Plasterdesigns products as having the ultimate fire prevention properties - including one of zero smoke / fume emission ( as there is no outer layer of paper ). This is a very important property when you consider that the prime cause of fatalities in a fire situation is asphyxiation by smoke inhalation. The safety qualities of this material makes Plasterdesigns products the safest of all internal decorative products available. Obviously timber and plastic products fail this test totally.

Precision Made

Plasterdesigns products are manufactured with the utmost attention to detail. The cornices are uniform in thickness and width through close control to the production process. The edges are consistent and are finished ready for installation. Vibration is used to remove air bubbles and a unique formula in our plaster insures that the products are strong yet easy to cut.

Strength and Durability

The tough fiberglass reinforcement provides improved flexural and comressive strength. Plasterdesigns products will not rot, and are unaffected by termites. For normal applications the life of the product is limited to the durability of the supporting structure.

Composition

Plasterdesigns products are made from white calcined plaster reinforced with scientifically selected glass fibers.

Color

Plasterdesigns products have the clean white appearence of plaster and the clear glass fibers used for reinforcement will not stain or mould.

Stability

Unlike timber, Plasterdesigns products are manufactured from a totally inert material therefore there are no problems of expansion or contraction. This removes the continual maintenance work involved with some other materials.

Drywall Construction

Plasterdesigns products can be erected quickly and simply and minimizes messy wet trades.

Decoration

The smooth surface of Plasterdesigns products is ideal for painting or special interior finishes. The natural white color makes an excellent base to bring out the true color of your paint. Apply all paints in accordance with the manufacturer`s recommendations.

Sound Transmission Class ( STC )

Here again tests prove that the material used in Plasterdesigns products has exceptional sound insulating properties. Its has a STC rating of 37, based on tests in accordance with ASTM, E90-66T & R14-2.
